‘Mobile’ è il primo estratto dal nuovo album dei The MOUNTAIN GOATS di John Darnielle. Lo stile dei The Mountain Goats è inimitabile, una band dal sound riconoscibile tra mille influenzata da indie-rock, punk e lo-fi degli anni ’80 e ’90 e che a sua volta ha aiutato a crescere la scena negli anni 2000. La band ormai vicina al trentesimo anniversario è guidata da John Darnielle, unico membro presente sin dagli esordi nella band che negli anni ha visto entrare e uscire dalla formazione artisti del calibro di Owen Pallett, St. Vincent, Kaki King e John Vanderslice.
‘Dark in Here’ arriva a meno di un anno di distanza da ‘Getting Into Knives’, album che riportato in alto il nome della band guidata da John Darnielle. Il nuovo album è stato registrato presso i FAME Studio di Muscle Shoals, Alabama, durante la lunga session che ha portato i Mountain Goats a registrare sia ‘Getting Into Knives’ che il precedente ‘Songs for Pierre Chuvin’.
I The Mountain Goats si sono formati nel 1991 e si apprestano a publicare il loro 20° album e a festeggiare il trentesimo anniversario di attività.
